Infrastructure projects in Chile and Ecuador advance toward 2027

Infrastructure projects in Chile and Ecuador are progressing toward 2027 operational targets. In Chile, the Temuco-Gorbea railway extension has reached a 20% physical progress rate in its first phase. This $37.7 million project involves renewing 45 kilometers of track to increase train speeds from 50 km/h to 130 km/h for passenger services and 100 km/h for freight. Passenger operations are projected to begin in the second half of 2027 following station upgrades.

In Ecuador, the Delsitanisagua–Cumbaratza–Los Encuentros–Bomboiza electrical transmission system has reached 62.57% completion. The $39.26 million project involves 93 kilometers of transmission lines and the expansion of substations to strengthen energy transport to the Zamora Chinchipe, Loja, and Morona Santiago regions. The system is designed to transport energy from the Delsitanisagua hydroelectric plant without restrictions and is expected to enter operation in 2027.
