Infrastructure projects in Heitlingen and Kreuztal to cause road closures
Several infrastructure projects in Germany are set to impact local traffic. In Heitlingen, Garbsen, Resser Straße will undergo a full closure starting October 12, 2026, for road surface renovations. The project, expected to last approximately one week, involves milling the existing surface and applying new asphalt. Traffic will be diverted via Engelbostel, and residents are advised to park vehicles outside the construction zone to avoid restrictions.
In Kreuztal, plans are being finalized for a major construction project scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027. The project involves rebuilding the 20-meter Ferndorf Bridge and a six-month full closure of Siegener Straße. To mitigate the impact on public transport, a temporary single-lane bridge will be constructed to allow some bus lines to continue operating, preventing a total interruption of service in the area.
