Infrastructure projects in Wunsiedel and Putzbrunn to cause road closures

Several infrastructure projects in Bavaria are scheduled to begin on September 28, 2026, involving road renovations and utility work.

In Wunsiedel, the Staatliches Bauamt Bayreuth will begin renovating approximately 450 meters of Hornschuchstraße. The project, which includes repairing the roadway, sidewalks, and drainage systems, is expected to last until November 13, 2026. The work, contracted to SBG Tiefbau GmbH for approximately 415,000 euros, will involve partial and full closures of the road. Improvements also include the installation of planting islands for parking and new crossing aids for pedestrians.

In Putzbrunn, the B471 (Haarer Straße) will become a one-way street heading north toward Haar due to electricity cable installation by Bayernwerk. This traffic change is expected to last until November 17, 2026. The project will be completed in two phases, affecting local driving routes and necessitating diversions for MVV line buses.
