Infrastructure projects launch in Ouagadougou and Benin
Infrastructure development projects are advancing in Burkina Faso and Benin. In Ouagadougou, authorities have inaugurated over six kilometers of new roads in the Dassasgho and Wayalghin districts. The project, costing over 6 billion CFA francs, includes road rehabilitation, the construction of two boreholes with water towers, two kilometers of solar public lighting, and the planting of 1,000 trees to increase greenery.
In Benin, work is set to begin on the 291 million dollar Sètto-Dassa-Zoumè road rehabilitation project. The 39.45-kilometer stretch on the RNIE2 will be expanded to four lanes and will include a second bridge over the Zou River and a modern toll and vehicle weight control complex. The project is funded by a 200 million dollar contribution from the United States via the Millennium Challenge Corporation and 89 million dollars from the government of Benin.
