Infrastructure projects launched for fishing and tourism in Mexico and Venezuela

New maritime infrastructure projects are being implemented in Huimilpan, Mexico, and Pampatar, Venezuela, to support local economies.

In Huimilpan, the San Pedro Dam will receive a new 30-meter pier designed to promote sports fishing, recreation, and tourism. Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, head of the Secretariat of Sustainable Development (SEDESU), stated the project aims to leverage natural attractions to strengthen the municipal economy. The pier will include ramps and handrails to improve safety and accessibility.

In Pampatar, Venezuela, rehabilitation work on the La Caranta fishermen's pier has been completed. The project, announced by Minister Juan Ramírez Luces, provides improved working conditions for approximately 300 local artisanal fishermen. The upgrades include new lighting, timber, and bases, as well as repairs to surrounding structures such as walls and roofs, marking the first major maintenance in over 15 years.
