Infrastructure projects launched in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and Ecuador
In the Dominican Republic, Fellito Suberví, director of the Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD), has initiated a sanitation project for the Boronota ravine in Villa Mella. With an investment exceeding RD$228.1 million, the project aims to benefit approximately 12,000 residents by addressing long-standing health and environmental risks. The works include covering 869.22 linear meters of the ravine with large-diameter pipes, removing debris, constructing 26 storm drains and 54 sanitary manholes, and repairing 50 homes.
In Ecuador, President Daniel Noboa inaugurated the Centro de Faenamiento del Trópico Húmedo in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas. This industrial complex, representing an investment of over USD 20 million, serves the cantons of Santo Domingo and La Concordia. The facility covers 4,151 square meters and is capable of processing up to 480 cattle and 480 pigs daily. The center features automated technology, cold storage, and waste treatment plants, aiming to improve meat hygiene standards and support regional exports for more than 553,000 inhabitants.
