Infrastructure projects progress in Şanlıurfa and Kayseri

Major transportation infrastructure projects are underway in Şanlıurfa and Kayseri to alleviate urban traffic congestion.

In Şanlıurfa, the Metropolitan Municipality is constructing the Eyyübiye Interchange Project on the Akçakale Highway. Located in front of the Şanlıurfa Training and Research Hospital, the project aims to improve access for ambulances and patients by separating transit traffic from local movements. Construction of the bridge piers on the Akçakale direction is complete, and work has moved to earthwork and infrastructure relocation. The design is also intended to be compatible with future light rail system plans.

In Kayseri, the Kartal Multi-level Interchange Project has reached 70 percent physical completion. Mayor Memduh Büyükkılıç reported that the Akansu side tunnel for the Organized Industrial Zone has been opened, and junction arrangements near Hüma Hospital are nearing completion. The municipality aims to open the interchange to traffic by the end of the year, provided weather conditions allow, with aesthetic improvements scheduled for the spring.
