Infrastructure projects proposed for Mantova and Milan-Mortara rail lines

In Mantova, the municipal government has approved a candidacy for a Lombardy Region-funded project to create a new pedestrian and cycle path connecting Strada Cipata to Borgo Virgiliana. The project, estimated at 500,000 euros, aims to strengthen sustainable mobility and connect the city center with the Valdaro-Olmolungo production areas. This initiative is part of a broader sustainability pact involving the municipalities of Mantova and San Giorgio Bigarello, alongside Confindustria Mantova.

In Lombardy, regional councilors Andrea Sala and Silvia Scurati have formally requested that Regional Transport Councilor Claudia Terzi coordinate with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and RFI to accelerate the selective doubling of the Milan-Mortara railway line. The project seeks to secure resources for feasibility studies to improve commuter connections for Western Milan, Vigevano, and the Lomellina region. The doubling was recently included in the Regional Program for Mobility and Transport (PRMT).
