S-Mart opens seventh store in Matamoros with 230 million peso investment
The retail chain S-Mart has inaugurated its seventh branch in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, located in the Lomas de San Juan subdivision. The project represents an investment exceeding 230 million pesos and has generated 300 direct and indirect jobs.
During the construction phase, 200 temporary positions were created. For the ongoing operation of the branch, the company reports 200 direct jobs and 100 indirect jobs. Matamoros remains the municipality in Tamaulipas with the highest number of S-Mart locations.
Mayor José Alberto Granados Fávila participated in the opening ceremony, where S-Mart Group General Director Laura Muñoz Delgado expressed gratitude for the municipal government's support in facilitating the project. The expansion is viewed as a sign of commercial development and security in the region, aimed at attracting further investment.
