Banja Luka announces major infrastructure and riverside projects

The City Administration of Banja Luka has announced several urban development projects aimed at improving the city's infrastructure and waterfront. Mayor Draško Stanivuković stated that by 2027, the city plans to connect the Riva with the promenade leading toward Vrućica by constructing a new section below the City Bridge. This initiative aims to create several kilometers of a continuous walking zone along the Vrbas river.

Other planned works include the reconstruction of the City Bridge and the installation of lighting on all city bridges, specifically mentioning the Venice and Rebrovački bridges. Additionally, the administration intends to renovate and protect the artillery barracks at the Kastel fortress to prevent further decay. While these projects have been announced, specific details regarding costs, financing methods, and exact timelines for most of the works have not yet been released.
