Infrastructure projects underway on major highways in Mexico and Peru

In Mexico, modernization work continues on Federal Highway 200 in the state of Oaxaca. The project covers a 25.6 kilometer stretch between San Pedro Pochutla and Santa María Huatulco. The upgrades include widening the road from seven to twelve meters, as well as implementing new drainage, paving, and safety improvements. Once completed, travel time between Pochutla and Huatulco is projected to decrease from 50 minutes to approximately 20 minutes. Work resumed on October 14 following previous delays related to right-of-way disputes.

In Peru, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) is reviewing an expansion project for the Panamericana Sur highway, specifically the Guadalupe–Ica–Ocucaje section. The initiative involves the construction of three road interchanges to improve transit conditions along this major corridor. Officials met with regional and provincial leaders from Ica, Nasca, Chincha, and Palpa to discuss technical studies and the coordination required between national and local governments to ensure the project's continuity.
