Infrastructure protests erupt over A-23 and A69 highway projects

In Spain, nine business and social organizations have called for a demonstration in Sabiñánigo on October 17 to demand the resumption of works on the A-23 highway. Protesters are seeking a solution from the Ministry of Transport regarding the section between Sabiñánigo Este and Sabiñánigo Oeste, which has been stalled for approximately one year. Representatives expressed concern over the lack of official information and a formal schedule to complete the project.

In France, approximately one thousand people participated in a demonstration against the A69 motorway in the Tarn region. The protest comes ahead of the planned service commencement between Toulouse and Castres in November. Opponents of the 53-kilometer project cited environmental destruction and high projected tolls as primary concerns. While the Council of State confirmed the project's legality in June, activists noted that the struggle against this specific infrastructure appears to be concluding, though they hope the movement will influence future large-scale projects.
