Infrastructure repairs and restoration projects launched in Slovakia and Czechia

The National Highway Company (NDS) has launched a tender for the repair of three bridges on the D1 motorway in the Trnava region of Slovakia. The project, valued at over €4.02 million excluding VAT, includes the Ronava, Zeleneč, and Trnávka bridges, all constructed in 1978. The work involves stripping bridge decks down to the load-bearing structures, installing new drainage, and replacing road surfaces. Bidders must ensure 24/7 operations, and the project includes environmental requirements to recycle at least 70% of construction waste.

In the Czech Republic, construction has begun at the site of the burned-out castle in Horní Maršov to secure the monument for future reconstruction. Owned by Krkonoše Resort Invest, the project aims to stabilize the structure, install a temporary roof, and address dry rot damage caused by the 2018 fire. Once stabilized, the investor plans to transform the site into a combination of hotel and accommodation services, potentially including a senior residence, with total costs estimated in the hundreds of millions of crowns.
