Central European infrastructure projects face delays and funding shifts

Various infrastructure projects across Central Europe are facing updates, delays, or funding challenges. In Prague, the Flora metro station has reached a milestone with the completion of shaft excavations to improve barrier-free access, expected to be operational by February 2028. Additionally, a new tramway junction has been completed near the Muzeum station to increase operational flexibility.

In Brno, the construction of the new main railway station faces significant delays due to budget constraints. Správa železnic indicated that construction may not begin until at least the early 2030s, as funding for project documentation was not released this year. This shifts the expected completion date from 2035 to potentially much later.

Other regional developments include a 289 million CZK tender for tram track repairs in Liberec and road reconstruction in Horní Lidčá. In Slovenia, a road near Zagorje remains closed due to a dangerous rockfall. Meanwhile, in Studénka, the completion of a new service road to divert heavy traffic has been delayed until October due to unforeseen utility line issues. In the Czech Republic, regional authorities have expressed concern that reduced state funding for transport infrastructure could lead to the postponement of several critical road repairs.
