Infrastructure repairs underway in Heraklion and Limassol

In Heraklion, Greece, the Municipality has announced the continuation of road resurfacing and repair works on Paparetrou Gavala Street. Starting September 24, the project will involve milling and asphalt laying from the intersection with Ethnomartyron Street to the intersection with Efmathiou Street. The works are expected to last approximately ten working days as part of an ongoing program to improve road safety.

In Limassol, Cyprus, the Cyprus Sport Organisation (KOA) has announced that restoration works at the Limassol Olympic Swimming Pool are expected to take approximately six weeks. The facility remains closed following extensive damage caused by recent severe weather events, which resulted in a broken central pipe and flooding of the underground machine room. The flooding caused significant damage to critical electromechanical installations and systems. Repairs include replacing piping and connections, reinforcing support points, and testing all systems to ensure safe operation before reopening.
