Infrastructure updates and local grievances reported in Mexico and Chile
In Atotonilco, Hidalgo, the municipal government has launched construction projects to improve accessibility at the UBR Community Clinic. With an investment exceeding 3 million pesos from the Municipal Social Infrastructure Contributions Fund (FAISM), the works include building ramps and stairs to facilitate mobility for elderly patients, people with disabilities, and those requiring specialized medical care at the new Integral Medical Unit.
This infrastructure project follows a recent investment of over 1 million pesos for medical equipment, including X-ray, ultrasound, and electrocardiograph machines, to support low-cost specialized consultations within the municipality.
Meanwhile, in Chile, residents of the Plaza del Este condominium are protesting delays in road repairs managed by Serviu. The access ramp at the intersection of Coihueco and Francisco Ramírez avenues, which serves 144 apartments, has remained in poor condition since early 2025 following utility works. Residents report that the current state of the road, consisting of dirt and gravel, causes vehicle damage and will become more problematic with increased traffic flow expected from upcoming avenue improvements.
