Infrastructure updates: Bridge repairs in Detva and square reconstruction in Czech Republic
In Detva, Slovakia, local authorities have completed technical inspections of five key bridges to determine necessary reconstruction priorities. According to city spokesperson Milan Suja, the bridges were assessed on a seven-point scale. Two bridges were identified in very poor condition (levels five and six), including the bridge near the wastewater treatment plant in Krné and the bridge on Andreja Hlinka Street near the primary school. The city plans to allocate budget funds for reconstruction projects based on these findings to address these significant deficiencies.
In the Czech Republic, the historic Kostelní náměstí is scheduled for reconstruction, with the first phase expected to last until April 30 of next year. The project includes repaving the uneven surface of the square. During this period, access to the square will be restricted to construction vehicles, and certain streets, such as Na Příkopě and Kostelní, will become dead ends. Despite the closures, access to St. Giles Church and the nearby court will be maintained, ensuring that religious ceremonies and civil funerals can continue.
