Infrastructure updates: Gurupi drainage works and Barreiro bus lane expansions

Infrastructure and transit updates are being implemented in Gurupi and Barreiro. In Gurupi, the marginal lane of the Viaduto Central at the BR-153 and Via da Integração junction will be fully closed for five days starting Tuesday. This closure, a partnership between the Gurupi City Hall and Ecovias do Araguaia, aims to improve the storm drainage system by adjusting a ‘rain garden’ structure to mitigate flooding during heavy rains.

In Barreiro, new 24-hour bus priority lanes have been established on Avenida Waldir Soeiro Emrich (Via do Minério) and Avenida Olinto Meireles. The project adds 2.2 kilometers of priority space, including 1.2 kilometers of an exclusive lane on Via do Minério and 1 kilometer of a preferential lane on Olinto Meireles. These changes are intended to improve public transport circulation and reduce travel times.
