Infrastructure updates in Pontevedra and flooding in Ciudad Madero

Construction on the Bombeiros junction in Pontevedra, Spain, is set to resume this week following a pause to address design and foundation issues. The project modification increases the total investment by the Ministry of Transport to over 10.9 million euros. The updated plan includes a new roundabout on the PO-531 to improve access to Vigo and the installation of intelligent traffic lights at the As Correntes bridge. Completion is now expected by mid-2028.

In Ciudad Madero, Mexico, heavy rainfall has caused significant flooding, with water levels reaching up to 90 centimeters in sectors such as Hipódromo and Ampliación Unidad Nacional. Local authorities are deploying seven pumps to reduce water levels and are preparing shelters in case of evacuations. Emergency services, including Civil Protection and the Navy, are working to clear debris from storm drains to facilitate drainage.
