Infrastructure updates in Spain and Andorra

In Spain, infrastructure challenges persist on the C-12 road near Aquil·les. Recurring storms cause the Galera ravine to flood, creating a conflict at the confluence with the Dreta irrigation canal. Despite previous drainage improvements in 2019, the 19th-century irrigation canal remains a bottleneck, as its narrow openings cannot handle the volume of water during intense rainfall. This has led to repeated damage to the asphalt and road structures in 2018, 2023, and 2025.

In Andorra, construction work on the north entrance of the Rocafort tunnel in Sant Julià de Lòria has been modified following resident complaints regarding detonations. The government has announced a two-week pause on blasting, opting to use pickaxe machinery instead. This change is not expected to affect the overall project timeline. The completed 233-meter, three-lane tunnel is intended to improve traffic flow on the CG-1 and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by an estimated 41%.
