Infrastructure updates reported for SP-332 and BR-324 highways
Infrastructure developments and repairs are underway on two major Brazilian highways. In São Paulo, Rota das Bandeiras has opened a new 2-kilometer stretch of the marginal lane on the SP-332 highway. This change, part of a R$ 180 million modernization project, alters access to the Real Parque region and the center of Barão Geraldo. The previous access point at km 116 has been permanently closed, with new access now routed through km 114.
In Bahia, the National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT) has completed surface repairs on the BR-324 highway, reopening the lane to traffic. However, investigations continue regarding a subterranean gallery located over 20 meters deep and 180 meters long. DNIT is using robots, georadar, and electrical resistivity tests to inspect the structure, as manual entry poses risks from potential gas buildup. A permanent solution may require non-destructive methods to replace the gallery without further disrupting traffic.
