Infrastructure updates reported in Argentina and Mexico

In Argentina, Mayor Ezequiel Moiso confirmed the signing of an agreement with the province to refunctionalize a water treatment plant. Following a digital bidding process involving five companies, a contractor has been selected to manage the first two stages of the reverse osmosis water purification project. Work is expected to begin in approximately 20 days with an estimated duration of 180 days. The new system will initially allow users to collect water in containers directly from the plant.

In Mexico, municipal authorities in Torreón conducted cleaning and desilting operations at the ‘La Vega del Caracol’ canal. Crews from the General Directorate of Public Works and the Municipal System of Water and Sanitation (SIMAS) removed significant amounts of urban waste, debris, and vegetation along the Santa Fe highway. Officials noted that the accumulation of refuse had reduced the channel's capacity to flow, increasing the risk of flooding during rainfall. Authorities have urged the public to stop disposing of waste in drainage systems.
