Infrastructure upgrades advance in Kovászna and Cluj-Napoca

Infrastructure developments are advancing in several Romanian municipalities. In Kovászna, Mayor József Gyerő announced the completion of a new electric vehicle charging network. Supported by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), the project established six charging stations across three locations, including areas near the spa center and the Hydrokov headquarters. The investment totaled approximately 900,000 lei, with 879,000 lei provided by non-reimbursable European Union funding.

In Cluj-Napoca, Mayor Emil Boc reported a significant milestone for the local commuter rail (HÉV) project. An offer has been received as part of the public procurement process for the acquisition of electric trains to serve the line between Gorbó and Bonchida. The planned 48.8-kilometer railway will feature 23 stations and is intended to provide a sustainable alternative to road transport for commuters. The project has a financing agreement valued at 284 million euros, and the procurement for station construction has already concluded.
