Infrastructure works cause traffic disruptions in Blankenberge and Asse

Various infrastructure and demolition projects are causing traffic disruptions in parts of Belgium.

In Blankenberge, the demolition of houses on Van Praethelling is expected to impact through traffic until Friday, October 16. While pedestrians and cyclists maintain access and local residences remain reachable, demolition equipment occupies the roadway, necessitating a detour for through traffic.

In Asse, the Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer (AWV) is conducting night-time asphalt repairs on the Brusselsesteenweg (N9) and Langestraat. These works, scheduled between 19:00 and 07:00 on October 14, 15, and 16, involve milling existing asphalt and applying new layers and markings. Langestraat will be closed during these nights, with a local detour in place. On the Brusselsesteenweg, traffic will be managed via temporary traffic lights. Additional delays are expected during the weekend of October 17-18 due to the installation of new detection loops at the intersection of Brusselsesteenweg and Langestraat.
