Infrastructure works cause transit disruptions in Buenos Aires and Madrid

Major infrastructure works are causing significant transportation disruptions in Buenos Aires and Madrid.

In Buenos Aires, the Dellepiane highway will undergo a 24-hour closure starting Saturday at 7:00 AM to facilitate the installation of a new pedestrian walkway. The project, managed by Autopistas Urbanas (AUSA) and the Ministry of Mobility and Infrastructure, involves using large cranes to place two 150-ton beams. Drivers heading toward the city center will be diverted via the South collector road, while those heading toward the Province will be redirected toward the Perito Moreno highway. The new walkway is intended to improve safety and serve as an access point for a future Metrobús station.

In Madrid, the Sol tunnel will close this Saturday and Sunday between the Atocha and Nuevos Ministerios stations due to transformation works at Atocha Cercanías. This closure affects the C-3 and C-4 Cercanías lines, which will operate with provisional termini at Atocha and Nuevos Ministerios. Passengers with valid Cercanías tickets may use EMT municipal buses. These summer works aim to implement a new track configuration designed to increase the Sol tunnel's capacity by up to 33% starting in October.
