Infrastructure works scheduled for A28 motorway and SP 68 road in Italy

Major infrastructure projects have been announced for two different road networks in Italy.

On the A28 motorway between the Sacile Est and Sacile Ovest junctions, Autostrade Alto Adriatico will undertake a year-long project to upgrade approximately 2,400 meters of lateral safety barriers on the Livenza river viaduct. The complex operation involves dismantling existing barriers, partially demolishing the current slab to create a new reinforced concrete structure, and installing new safety devices using suspended scaffolding. To facilitate these works, nighttime closures and lane restrictions will be implemented between Monday, the 26th, and Saturday, the 31st, affecting traffic in both directions between Sacile Ovest and Sacile Est.

Separately, works have been commissioned for the SP 68 road, which connects Segesta, Ponte Bagni, and Inici. This project aims to consolidate sections affected by landslides and land instability. The intervention, valued at over 1.5 million euros, will last approximately 452 days and includes resurfacing the road and implementing water drainage systems to manage runoff from surrounding hills. The SP 68 serves as a vital link for agricultural, pastoral, and tourist traffic between Segesta and Castellammare del Golfo.
