Infrastructure works scheduled in Wichelen and Gulpen

Various infrastructure and utility works are scheduled to take place in Wichelen, Belgium, and Gulpen, Netherlands, during late October and November 2026.

In Wichelen, Wyre will conduct utility works on Krijgelstraat starting October 21, expected to last until November 13. During this time, motorized traffic will be restricted to one direction from Lange Haagstraat toward Bruinbekestraat. Additionally, Farys will perform sewage connection works from October 22 to October 30, which will result in a full closure of the street to motorized vehicles. A detour via Bruinbekestraat, N416, N442, Steenakker, and Lange Haagstraat will be in place.

In Gulpen, contractor RR-Civiel will begin work on the Looiersplein parking lot on October 22. The project involves installing new trees, greenery, and adjusting paving, with an expected completion date of November 10. Due to the construction and concurrent renovations at a local PLUS supermarket, significantly fewer parking spaces will be available in the area. Local businesses and private parking remain accessible, though motorists should expect potential disruptions.
