UK listed InterContinental Hotels Group and ICG plc announce sizeable share buybacks
InterContinental Hotels Group PLC disclosed that on 29 June 2026 it repurchased 74,905 ordinary shares on the London Stock Exchange through Goldman Sachs International at an average price of £172.89 per share, with the intent to cancel the shares. After the transaction the company has 149,038,971 ordinary shares outstanding, excluding 5.43 million held in treasury.
ICG plc reported that between 22 June and 23 June 2026 it bought a total of 272,588 ordinary shares via Merrill Lynch International as part of its February‑2026 share‑buyback programme. The shares will be held in treasury and cancelled in tranches, reducing the voting‑rights pool to 280,659,371 shares. The buyback supports the company’s strategic partnership with Amundi.
Both companies filed the transactions with the London Stock Exchange’s RNS service, indicating they are using treasury‑share mechanisms to manage capital structure without diluting existing shareholders.
