ING Group shares rise above 200-day moving average

ING Group shares have surpassed their 200-day moving average, trading as high as $35.09. This upward momentum follows a second-quarter earnings report that exceeded market expectations, with the company reporting an earnings per share of $0.79 against a consensus estimate of $0.75.

The bank's performance has been supported by higher customer numbers and increased deposits, allowing it to capitalize on sustained high interest rates to expand net interest income across European retail and corporate banking. Following these results, management has adjusted its guidance for the fiscal year, raising targets for customer growth and the loan book while maintaining disciplined cost management.

In addition to earnings growth, the company is currently engaged in a share buyback program. Analysts have provided mixed but generally positive outlooks, with ratings ranging from “Hold” to “Strong Buy.”
