Ingka Centres plans to expand Livli shopping center in Kungens kurva

Ingka Centres, a company within the Ikea sphere, has proposed a major expansion of the Livli shopping center in Kungens kurva, south of Stockholm. The project involves demolishing the existing parking garage located between the Ikea warehouse and the Livli building to create a new 65,000-square-meter structure.

The investment is estimated at approximately five billion SEK. The goal is to integrate the Ikea warehouse and the shopping center into a single, cohesive experience destination. While Livli currently houses around 30 stores, restaurants, and a grocery store, the expansion aims to accommodate over 150 stores, along with restaurants, a cinema, and various social spaces.

The proposal seeks to increase the total gross area to 210,000 square meters from the current 146,000 square meters. The development is expected to generate more than 2,000 new jobs and includes plans to incorporate greenery, such as preserving an existing oak grove, to connect the center with surrounding residential areas.
