Inglewood judge voids $400M SoFi Stadium development deal

A Superior Court judge has declared a decade-old development agreement between the city of Inglewood and companies tied to Rams owner Stan Kroenke void. The ruling by Judge David Reinert on Sept. 1 impacts the 300-acre Hollywood Park development, which includes SoFi Stadium and the YouTube Theater.

The dispute centers on approximately $400 million. Hollywood Park entities claim the city owes them reimbursement for infrastructure and other investments made under the 2015 agreement. Inglewood maintains the contract is unenforceable, arguing the original process used to approve the stadium construction was illegitimate.

Representatives for Hollywood Park stated they disagree with the court’s decision and are considering an appeal, noting they have fulfilled all commitments under the unanimously adopted agreement. The ruling leaves the long-term financial relationship between the city and the stadium developers in legal limbo.
