Ingolstadt announces 2026 city council election results

Ingolstadt has announced the preliminary official results for its 2026 city council elections. Voter turnout was recorded at 47.0%. The CSU achieved 30.3% of the vote, increasing its share from 26.8% in 2020, and secured 15 seats.

The AfD saw a significant increase, rising from 7.6% in 2020 to 16% in the current election, resulting in 8 seats. Conversely, the SPD lost 2.7 percentage points, falling to 14.8% with 7 seats, and the Greens decreased to 12.9% with 6 seats. Other seat distributions include the FW with 5 seats, Die Linke with 3, and the ÖDP, FDP, and UWG each receiving 2 seats.

Following the recent mayoral election, Dr. Michael Kern (CSU) took office on March 1, 2025, after winning the runoff with 64.2% of the vote.
