Ingolstadt SPD faction seeks clarity on Stadttheater renovation

In Ingolstadt, the SPD city council faction has submitted an inquiry regarding the future of the Stadttheater's festival hall (Festsaal) following the summer of 2027. The inquiry, scheduled for the Culture and Education Committee meeting on October 13, focuses on the scope of necessary renovations, expected costs, the intended lifespan of the facility, and potential funding opportunities.

Mayor Wöhrl previously indicated a preference for pragmatic renovations to minimize closures. However, the municipal building department has not yet provided a definitive assessment regarding the required scale of work, costs, or timeline. Quirin Witty, chairman of the SPD faction, emphasized the need for a solution that is both technically sound and financially sustainable to avoid the inefficiency of performing minimal repairs that would require reinvestment in the near future.
