Ingram, Texas police partner with ICE for deportation program

The small town of Ingram, Texas, has implemented an agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as part of a broader national program revived in January 2025. Under this initiative, local law enforcement officers are deputized to assist in deportation efforts.

In Ingram, a community of approximately 1,900 people, the program has had significant local impact. Following the agreement, local police have been involved in actions that resulted in the deportation of individuals equivalent to 10% of the town's population. Officer Jaron Alexander, who suggested the program to his chief, has been a primary figure on the ground during these enforcement actions.
