Ingrid Capacity and Alpiq partner for 500 MW battery storage in Nordics

Swedish battery energy storage system (BESS) operator Ingrid Capacity and Swiss energy company Alpiq have signed an agreement to study long-term purchase agreements for battery storage projects totaling up to 500 MW in Northern Europe. The partnership aims to secure future revenues and facilitate project financing within volatile electricity markets by combining Ingrid Capacity’s operational expertise with Alpiq’s financial strength.

The collaboration builds upon a previous operation in Finland involving the 45 MW / 90 MWh Pedersöre project, which is jointly owned by Ingrid Capacity and the French asset management firm Mirova. According to Ingrid Capacity, these mechanisms are intended to create more efficient financing structures and provide investors with flexible, long-term exposure to energy markets.
