Ingrid Timmer nominated as new mayor of Ommen
The Ommen municipal council has nominated Ingrid Timmer, a D66 politician, to serve as the new mayor of Ommen. Timmer, 52, currently serves as the acting mayor of Rozendaal and previously held a position as an alderman in Brummen.
The selection process involved 36 candidates. Following an initial selection by the King's Commissioner, a delegation from the municipal council interviewed several candidates to determine the best fit for the profile established by residents, organizations, and council members earlier this year.
The nomination will now proceed to the Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. The final appointment is subject to a Royal Decree. Timmer is expected to be officially installed on January 21, 2027, succeeding Hans Vroomen. Annemiek Jetten is currently serving as the acting mayor of Ommen.
