Inha University hosts Hangeul Love Contest for 580th Hangeul Day

The Inha University Korean Language and Culture Institute is hosting the ‘Hangeul Love Contest’ to commemorate the 580th anniversary of Hangeul Day. The initiative aims to promote the excellence of the Korean alphabet and foster appreciation for the beauty of the native language.

The contest features three distinct categories: ‘Pure Korean Handwritten Letters’, where participants write letters to loved ones without using loanwords or foreign terms; ‘Hangeul Love Drawing’, which allows for artistic expressions of Hangeul, King Sejong, or the creation of the alphabet via traditional paper or digital tools; and ‘Express in Ten Syllables’, a challenge to convey gratitude or love for Hangeul in exactly ten characters.

Applications are open from September 4 until September 25. Interested citizens can download application forms from the institute’s website and submit their entries via designated online forms. Winners will receive certificates and cultural gift certificates, with an award ceremony scheduled for October 9 at Inha University.
