Inhambane to receive $7M for tourism infrastructure and new cultural arena

The Inhambane provincial government and the World Bank are launching initiatives to bolster tourism infrastructure in southern Mozambique. Through the ‘Mais Oportunidades’ project, funded by the World Bank and managed by the Ministry of Finance, $7 million will be invested in last-mile tourism infrastructure. Key interventions include rehabilitating the waterfront and improving market conditions, parking, and beach safety in Tofo and Vilankulo.

Additionally, Governor Francisco Manuel Pagula has announced plans to construct a permanent Cultural Arena at Tofo Beach. The project aims to provide a dedicated venue for cultural and entertainment events, supporting the province's goal of becoming a premier national tourism destination. These developments coincide with the upcoming approval of a new Strategic Tourism Plan and an Integrated Plan for the Inhambane province.
