INICIA presents vision for Dominican educational transformation

Representatives from INICIA presented a vision for transforming the Dominican Republic’s educational system during a regional lunch hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (AMCHAMDR) in Santiago.

Under the theme ‘Education as a national obsession,’ speakers Amelia Vicini, Ryan Larrauri, and Antonio Caparrós emphasized the need for sustainable transformation through long-term investments and better alignment between academic training and the needs of the productive sector. Vicini noted that while the 2011 allocation of 4% of GDP to pre-university education was a milestone, the current challenge is ensuring the quality and relevance of learning.

INICIA’s strategy involves a minimum investment horizon of 20 years, aimed at strengthening both public and private educational institutions to foster the talent necessary for the country’s economic and social development.
