Injective clarifies network disruption following ecosystem upgrade

Injective developers have addressed concerns regarding a recent accelerated network upgrade that caused some validators to be temporarily disabled. The project clarified that the Injective blockchain was not compromised and that user funds remain safe.

The disruption occurred because the ecosystem infrastructure and validators took longer than expected to complete the upgrade, leading some to enter a “jail” state. This resulted in a brief decrease in total staked amounts and caused some cryptocurrency exchanges to temporarily suspend INJ deposits and withdrawals.

Injective stated that the upgrade was prompted by an attack on several binary options applications within the ecosystem. However, the developers emphasized that the attack only affected those specific applications and did not impact the core protocol, local assets, or the consensus mechanism. The vulnerability has since been identified and contained.
