Injured badger rescued in Poznań garden
An injured female badger was rescued from a residential garden in the Wola district of Poznań. The animal, which appeared weak and lethargic, was discovered by a property owner and reported to the municipal guard.
Poznań's Ekopatrol team captured the badger and transported it to the ‘Fundacja z Dzikiej Strony’ wildlife clinic. Medical examinations, including X-rays, confirmed there were no bone fractures. However, blood tests revealed extensive muscle damage that poses a risk of secondary kidney and liver dysfunction.
The badger has been stabilized with pain relief and intensive fluid therapy. While her condition is currently stable, staff at the foundation noted she remains drowsy and lethargic, requiring continuous observation to monitor her recovery from the trauma.
