Injuries impact college football programs in MAC and Miami

Injuries continue to impact college football, notably within the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and the Miami Hurricanes program. In the MAC, 132 players are currently sidelined due to injury, with 12 others listed as questionable. Key absences include UMass quarterback William “Pop” Watson III and Miami (OH) quarterback David McComb, the latter of whom is expected to miss the remainder of the season. Additionally, Akron quarterback Cibastian Broughton has missed three consecutive weeks due to a knee injury.

In the top-ranked Miami Hurricanes program, head coach Mario Cristobal reported that four players—Ezekiel Marcelin Jr., Lightfoot, Xavier Lucas, and Damari Brown—are “all the way back” for the upcoming game against Florida State. However, the team will be without starting offensive lineman Max Buchanan, who is expected to remain out for a period of time.
