Injuries impact São Paulo and Vasco players

Several Brazilian football players face significant injury setbacks. São Paulo midfielder Marcos Antônio is undergoing conventional treatment for a non-traumatic injury described by coach Dorival Júnior as a possible ligament or vessel issue caused by wear and tear. The coach noted the player has had difficulty walking and expressed uncertainty regarding a return to play this year.

Vasco defender Carlos Cuesta will not play again in 2026 following the failure of conservative treatment for a hip injury. The 27-year-old Colombian, currently on loan from Galatasaray, requires arthroscopy to address the issue. Vasco's medical department is coordinating with the Turkish club to manage the surgical procedure and recovery process.
