Injustice 3 development suspected following AAA fighting game playtest leak

Reports suggest that a new entry in the DC fighting game franchise, potentially titled ‘Injustice 3’, is in active development. Evidence emerged from a deleted job listing by the recruiting firm Good Gamer Group, which sought high-level competitive players for closed playtest sessions held on September 14 and 15.

The playtests were scheduled to take place in Culver City, California, the location of Warner Bros. Discovery headquarters. The listing specifically requested participants who rank in the top 25% of competitive 2D fighters such as ‘Street Fighter 6’ or ‘Guilty Gear Strive’ to test an unreleased ‘AAA 2D fighting game’.

This development follows a period where NetherRealm Studios focused on the ‘Mortal Kombat’ franchise, breaking its previous pattern of alternating between the two series. While neither NetherRealm Studios nor Warner Bros. Games has officially confirmed the project, other indicators—including a previous resume leak from a Warner Bros. Games artist and hints from franchise voice actors—have bolstered speculation regarding the sequel.
