Inmet issues low‑humidity yellow alerts for multiple Brazilian states

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued yellow alerts for low relative humidity across several Brazilian states. In Rio Grande do Norte, a potential‑danger alert covering 53 municipalities warned that humidity could drop to 20‑30% on July 8, advising increased water intake, avoidance of intense activity and sun exposure, and noting a risk of health discomfort and forest fires.

In Bahia, three successive yellow alerts were released for 125 municipalities between July 7 and July 11, with the same humidity range and similar health and fire‑risk recommendations. The alerts applied to regions including the Vale São‑Franciscano, Extremo Oeste, Centro Norte, and Centro Sul of the state.

Paraíba saw a yellow alert for 39 cities on July 9, also forecasting 20‑30% humidity. Residents were urged to stay hydrated, limit physical exertion during the hottest hours, seek shade, and could contact civil‑defence (199) or the fire brigade (193) if needed.
