inMusic donates 4,500 historic Moog items to the Bob Moog Foundation

inMusic Brands, the parent company of Moog Music, has donated a collection of 4,489 items to the Bob Moog Foundation. The archive includes Bob Moog’s personal office files, more than 500 schematics, 700 letters spanning the 1970s to the early 2000s, and dozens of vintage synthesizers and prototype models such as a Fairlight CMI, a Synton System 3000 modular synth, a bench‑model Minimoog Voyager prototype, Moogerfooger prototypes, a Multiple Resonant Filter test fixture and a Moog Phone Controller PC‑30.

The donation also contains hundreds of back issues of industry magazines, rare product catalogues from competing manufacturers, and correspondence with notable figures like Wendy Carlos, Herb Deutsch, Felix Visser and Lydia Kavina. The Bob Moog Foundation says the material will be accessioned into its archives and made available for research, education and public exhibition, a process that has taken over a year.

Company representatives emphasized that preserving Bob Moog’s legacy supports the foundation’s mission to inspire future generations of musicians and engineers.
