Inönü University hosts international film festival and academic conference

Inönü University is hosting two significant events focused on culture and academic development. The 15th International Short Film Festival is scheduled to take place in Malatya from October 26 to 28. This marks the return of the festival, which had been suspended since 2022 due to the pandemic and earthquakes. The event will feature competitions in four categories: National Fiction, National Documentary, International Fiction, and International Documentary. Organizers aim to expand the festival's reach beyond the campus through outdoor screenings in collaboration with the Malatya Metropolitan, Yeşilyurt, and Battalgazi municipalities. Currently, 336 films from various countries have applied for the competition.

Additionally, the university hosted a conference on global academic collaborations. Professor Saidur Rahman from Malaysia's Sunway University delivered a lecture at the Turgut Özal Congress and Culture Center. The session focused on the importance of high-quality research, publication strategies in international peer-reviewed journals, and the necessity of building global networks between universities and research centers to increase scientific competitiveness.
