Inönü University secures European Commission support for Jean Monnet project

Inönü University has secured support from the European Commission for its Jean Monnet Module project, titled ‘GUIDE-CFSP: Guide to a More Integrated Europe: Common Foreign and Security Policy’. Led by Assistant Professor Ahmet Turan from the Department of Political Science and International Relations, the project received a score of 96 out of 100.

Funded by a 35,000 euro grant under the Erasmus+ program, the initiative will run for 36 months. The primary goal is to integrate the European Union’s Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) into the university’s curriculum through a new elective course. This course will cover the EU’s identity as an international actor, the historical, legal, and economic dimensions of the CFSP, and the EU’s relations with regions such as Central Asia and the Caucasus.

The project aims to benefit approximately 300 students over three years, totaling 360 lecture hours. To bridge the gap between academia and policy-making, the program will feature guest lectures from academics, diplomats, and military experts.
