Inner Mongolia's 36th Tourism Nadam Festival launched in Xilin Gol, China

The 36th Tourism Nadam of Inner Mongolia opened on July 18, 2026 in the Xilin Gol league. The event is co‑organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the Administrative Office of Xilin Gol. Traditional Nadam activities – horse racing, wrestling and archery – are complemented by over 20 interactive cultural offerings, including workshops, traditional games and photo sessions in ethnic costumes. The festival has attracted more than 100,000 visitors from across China and regional guests. Additional programmes feature live rock concerts on the steppe, motorcycle routes through volcanic landscapes, and a gourmet section highlighting Xilin Gol lamb and local dairy specialties. Celebrations run through the end of August, coinciding with the launch of the Inner Mongolia cultural heritage shopping month.
