Inner West Council reduces parking requirements for new apartments
The Inner West Council has voted to overhaul planning rules, significantly reducing the required number of parking spaces for new apartment developments. A second zone, covering suburbs like Leichhardt, Rozelle, Petersham, and Lewisham, allows a maximum of 0.3 spaces for one-bedroom apartments and 0.7 spaces for two-bedroom apartments. This reform follows similar actions by the Woollahra, North Sydney, and City of Sydney councils, as well as broader NSW government housing reforms.
